In an emotional game between the Labette County Grizzlies and the Frontenac Raiders, the Raiders took the win, 33-7. Labette County hosted the game on Friday, September 12, 2026 in Altamont, Kansas.
Despite the loss, many Grizzlies still had a great game. Senior quarterback Aaron Wyrick scored a rushing touchdown in the third quarter. As wide receiver, senior Nolan Nash ended the game with seven catches for a total of 78 yards. When asked if anyone stood out defensively, Coach Argabright commented, “Riggin Ross and Logan Jenkins both had good games and played with great effort.”
Also this week in Labette County, the cross country team conquered their first 5k of the season at their meet in Fort Scott; the varsity girls placed fourth overall, while the varsity boys placed fifth.
Looking ahead, the Grizzlies will take on the Hornets from Emporia, Kansas, this Friday at Labette County’s homecoming game.
